The estimate follows billable characters
The configurator counts letters and other visible characters, while spaces do not increase the billable count. A five-letter minimum charge applies, so very short words are priced as five billable characters.
The selected height also affects the displayed rate. The configurator keeps the wording, size, finish, and estimate together so you can review the combination before continuing.
Examples of how the count works
A four-letter word uses the five-character minimum. A phrase containing ten visible characters and two spaces is charged as ten characters, because the spaces are ignored for pricing.
- HOME: charged at the five-character minimum
- MY DESK: six billable letters; the space is free
- Longer wording: charged using its visible, non-space character count
When to request a separate quote
Use the custom quote route for unusually long wording, brand-specific work, a different format, or a variation that the configurator does not offer. That keeps non-standard requirements out of a checkout flow designed for the listed options.
